What are your thoughts and experiences with non skid marine vinyl flooring?

My local marine shop has a bunch of new boats on display and most of them were equipped with this non-skid floor, which at first I thought were painted.

But I just came back from another marine shop and they sell the exact same flooring, but to my surprise it was vinyl. I really like the way it looks and feels and I would like some opinions.

Re: Paint vs Vinyl Flooring

Also...quick side question (dont feel like making a new thread), but when tabbing a transom, how many layers are recommended? Will 1 layer with a 6" overlap to the hull and transom with a 1.5 oz mat be enough?

Thank You

I had it on my last boat it was brand new, it was textured type. If your going to have fish blood and bait being slung all over the place clean it fast or its gona stain. I had the same stuff cabelas and bass pro shops carries.

`I personally like the vinyl but I have seen professional paint jobs that look like gelcoat. If your deck is really smooth after glassing, just pick the one you like best & make sure it's got a good non skid surface. I'll let someone else jump in on the transom.
