Painting a Resin Lampost

It's only been in about 6 or 7 months and the factory paint is cracking and peeling. I know prep is most important but I've never painted resin before. Any suggestions on prep and what type of paint to use?

Consider Krylon Fusion for Plastics in a spray can.
