Ok..... I have decided to use Sherwin Williams one stage (3 part) ACRYL-D Now discontinued but was top of the line when it was sold. I have a supply of reducers and hardeners and just needed to fill in with top coat etc to keep my cost way down. My question is....I need to tape off the two colors -The orange and the off white on the bottom hull and was wondering how I can accomplish getting the two colors to not have a big ridge line between them. Should I make a pattern of the "spear" section and spray the whole hull off white and then tape off the spear and spray the orange or should I tape off the orange area and spray the off white then tape off the white and spray the orange ? I was told if I used a two stage base and clear coat I could virtually get it all to blend but at what cost for paint $500.00 plus ? and also spraying two colors AND a clear coat! I want the job to come out ok but don't want a tape line if possible.............Any help ?
