I am thinking of painting my boat this spring. I have been researching this for the last month or so and have learned alot from this forum and great web-sites like the Inturluk site!

I examined the the hull of my boat, which is fiberglass. Their are very small, minor spyder cracks, pressure cracks towards the bottom of the boat, well under the water line.
Their are not many, but I want to remove these, as I know they will show through on my final finish. My question is do I try and sand these out, or fill in with puddy and then sand down?

I am going to try and take pictures to post, but any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
-Denis

The cracks need to be completely sanded out and then filled, or reglassed, depending on how deep the are, otherwise they will be back very soon.

Agreed, The cracks need to be completely removed then filled or they will be back. People often call them stress cracks but the majority of these cracks are caused by over-thick gelcoat or poorly catalyzed gelcoat when the boat was built.
