Painting new exhaust manifolds

I got a set of new ex manifolds for my 88 OMC Cobra 4.3. I want to paint them soon. I'm thinking of using regular engine paint on them (even the old ones really didn't get hot) but am not sure of what is the correct primer to use--zinc chromate or regular??

Go with the Zinc and high temp black.
