Painting outdrive

I’m just finishing up my drive I have sanded, zinc primed and Volvo Penta paint Should I use clear coat? Is there a special kind to use

Clearing is optional in my opinion although I have always done it. I figure it adds an extra layer of protection and makes the new paint shiny. I`ve always used Moeller clear, but I suppose just about any automotive clear would work.
