Well I am going to paint the trailer and boat. I have the boat off the trailer and have stripped the trailer down of all rollers etc. I will try to put pics up if I can figure it out.

I will wire wheel the trailer and put an undercoat of primer and then a coat of white paint. That should take care of the trailer.

Then the bearing and wheels. etc. Just any marine grease for the bearings?

After the trailer is complete i will get started on the bottom paint. That should be fun!?!?

What so you guys think

By the way, how do I up load pictures?

I was going to wait till spring to ask, but since this is close to the topic, may as well be now. I plan on repainting the trailer, but no lake to park the boat on, and I will have to pick it off myself. I was curious if you might know of a way to do this that would be better than my idea? I was just going to build am A frame out of 2x6's, and use my winch to pull it up. I do not have a garage, so its gonna have to be done behind the house.

120i/o, yeah, that will prolly work. you're sure 2x6s are stout enough? some people use hay bales or similar stuff to set the hull onto once they get it off trailer.

This is kinda hi-jacked but the new guy doesnt know better yet..

I have done this 2x's..here you go..

LOWER the jack as low as you can go.
This puts the stern in the air
BLOCK the stern, old tires are GREAT!

RAISE the jack, the stern and 1/2 the boat will lift off.
Get a long 4X4...Long enough to clear the fenders/wheels. You may want to notch a "V" in it to help secure the keel in the groove of the4x4..
Put the 4X4 between the hull and trailer, close to the bow, but not too far forward.
Get 2 jacks, scissor, bottle, whatever
race jacks, that the arm lifts up andtowards you arent very good as they shift. STRAIGHT up and down is better

Jack one side, jack the other, back and forth till she's up enough to clear therollers.
Pull her out.

I tie off the stern to a big tree, if you dont have a tree, use a car axle or sumthin..lol

WHOA NELLY!!!

That seems like a LOT of work there CBK.

Didn't you find out a quicker, more efficient way to power-unload a boat

(Sorry Kev, someone was going to go there, and I figured, why not me :D)

I guess I shouldn't have side-tracked the OP's thread...

For the bearings, yup, just any ol' run of the mill marine grease will work fine.
