i have a carver santigo 1988 it has a burgundy side but i can't buff it up so i'll paint anybody know the right color for this boat and what paint to use thanks

You can contact carver. They will provide you with the proper color but probably only in Gelcoat. I am doing this on my cruisers 25ft from 88. You can use AlGrip but it is very hard and difficult to work with, but will produce the best longest lasting results if you use it. Imron is an automotive paint used on your corvettes and the like and will do just fine. It is easier to work with and lots cheaper. You can have custom colors prepared to match any requirement you might have. This is the route I am going. I probably won't own the boat in 10 years and I am sure it will last at least that long.

Carver:<br /> My carver is the same colour and i had the same problem........What i did this year was to wet sand the colored strip.......it came out like a million bucks.......the only thing is , you will lose the carver logo on the side, but it can be replaced.....
