--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I recently repowered my 25 hydrasport with a pair of 175 Johnsons. The props I am using are the 4 blade 14x19 omc offshore renegrades. these props bite well (i also tried 3 bladed)my question is that the specs for wot rpm are between 4500 and 5500 rpm. I am currently turning full load wot 5000 rpm,s and empty-light load 5200. is this too low, or within reason. i am crusing in the 3500-3700 rpm range. in all my reading on these posts, the general consensus is the higher the rpm the better? these motors seem to have a low wot rpm range spec range? do i need to bump the wot empty to 5500 any comments appreciated

Naturally the motors will live happier and longer if set up at 5800 (average load). Those are some pretty decent 4 blade props. Try increasing with the X dimension to gain some rpm. That should help overall speed and performance also.

Check you toe in/out to see where youre at too.

Good luck!
