I ran across a carb on ebay advertised as part # 318505 taken from a 1976, 25hp which will fit 18 and 25 hp from 1960ish - 1976 year models.

While questioning the ebay lister, another number from the carb was 313355.

I have a 1973, 18hp I'd like to put this carb on but can't identify either of these part numbers to be sure it will work.

Can anyone out there tell me what these numbers are ?

Those are probably casting numbers for the parts before machining, and are generally useless because the same casting might be used for more than one finished part. However, 313355 is listed as an obsolete float bowl.

The same carb does not fit 1960-76. There was a major change around 1969.

I tried without success to find the e-bay listing to see what it looks like. Post the e-bay item number and I'll try again.

Well, the auction ended with no sale. So, I'm working directly with the seller via email. They removed the picture after the auction ended. To me, the picture looked right.
The main thing I'm interested in is the Idle Mixture screw and BRP says that a 1976, 25 hp and 1973, 18hp use the same part # for the Idlem Mixture screw. I'm just trying to verify that..... or could make a 25hp out of my 18.
Thanks....
