Ok first question, I cant seem to find the rod that opens the throttle up on the carb. Short rod bout 4 inches long. Im in search of the plastic ends for it or a whole rod and ends? Cant seem to find where it is on (boats dot net) for my 75 555hg.

2nd question and the most important. I have an opportunity to buy a 71 105hp Chrysler for 100 bucks. Now i feel I can part the thing out for quadruple that. What do you think, is it a dumb question and I should just buy it. Has like brand new control cables and nice box as well. Dont know the model number but I think its a Magna 2? Guy claims it just needs a rotor in the dist. cuz of wear down. Anyways I dont care as i plan to part it out and maybe hook a few guys on here that may need stuff for dirt cheap. Need to decide ASAP.

Thank you sirs :)

Is this what you need? Scroll down for a photo of the part.

Part# for a new nylon ends w/ball swivel is 817747-1 and is still available at that site you were looking at.

Not sure about the demand for parts for that motor. Seems like there is a fair amount of questions about them here on this Forum though. I guess there's quite a few out there.

Those engines are getting so old that most people scrap rather than repair if anything goes wrong. You would probably hold on to the lower unit for a couple of years before it sold. Distributor usually doesn't have problems so it will not sell. Starter is the same for late Chrysler and early Force so it is worth some money. Prop if in good condition is worth about 40 bucks.

All in all, 100 bucks is too much. It would only be worth that much if you wanted to refurbish it and run it on a vintage Chrysler boat.

$50 sounds better. And the throttle rod may be the same as you need. Ball ends get brittle with age and may break when you remove them.

PNW- Thanks for the link, I actually just bought that one. My plastic ends cracked and are electrical taped together right now :) so any temporary fix is nice.

Jerry- Where did you find the diagram and parts for it? I checked under almost every category

Frank- Thanks for the info, too bad I thought they would be worth more. Ill have to see if I can get him to lower the price based on the info you gave me.

Just copy and paste the part number I referenced at the site you were looking at in the "search" box and it will bring up all the motors that it's used in. Click on one of the listings on the right side highlighted in light blue and it will bring up the diagram. I'm pretty sure that the same part is used in pretty much all the motors, different years and HP.
