What do you call the "exhaust pipe" in an outboard motor?

This part seals to the powerhead's exhaust port and extends down into the main body (outboard center section between the PH and lower unit) below the water line.

The bolts on mine must have vibrated loose since the "pipe" was loose in my motor. One bolt is missing and the other three holes are wallowed out from banging against the fasteners.

Lastly: Where can I get a new one if I need it?
1963 Evinrude 40hp selectric shift Lark

Re: Part Name

I think he means the exhaust tube or exhaust tuner. Hey, I don't think any of your engine's has one.

The exhaust tuner is a tube of precise length that employs the pressure wave in the exhaust to effectively suck extra exhaust from the cylinder, replacing it with more fuel/air mix to be burnt. It makes a very large difference in the amount of power a 2-stroke can produce. For example, petrolhead's 22.0 CID 18hp is very similair to the later 22.0 CID engine that produces 25hp. One of the contributing factors is an exhaust tuner.
Or his Lightwin, which is very similair to the '70s tuner equipped 4hp.

If you need a new one, you can get it from Marine Parts Outlet or Twin City Outboard.

A Joe Reeves quote:
... is to use the black Permatex (heavily) on the gasket 306242 which seperates the inner exhaust tube from the exhaust housing on the 1959 35hp and 1960 to 1970 40hp OMC outboards.
