Hi, I need help from someone with a 1972 Evinrude 9.5 hp parts catalog. I need the part number to the eyelet that the starter rope pulls through at the front of the motor. I believe it is called an eyelet, but I'm not sure. It is the grommet that the rope runs through. I need one because the one on my motor now must have a sharp point on it because it shreds every starter rope that I get(I have gone through 4 ropes in the past few months). Any help with that number would be appreciated! Thanks

Brent

Brent, Maybe Im missing something but why not ask your dealer for a replacement part?
If he cant help you out I think you need another dealer.

Why not just file the sharp point off?

Rich
