Yet another noob question...

My 1992 Johnson 120 hp powerhead was dismounted from the rest of the engine. When preparing for a new gasket I accidentially lost a 1,5" part of the old gasket into the exhaust hole ("megafone"?).

When assembling the powerhead into the rest of the engine again, I actually forgot to bring the old gasket part out.

Now, I wonder, do I have to dismount the power head again, or can I reach the gasket by removing something else (less heavy) at a lower part of the engine (covers, gearcase etc)?

Cheers!

I would think you could easily get at it if you dropped the lower unit.
