part swap compadibility

I have a 72 chrysler 55 horse and i found a 68 chrysler 55 horse that i would like to buy for parts mainly ignition parts (coils) can anyone tell me if the parts on these wto motors are interchangable. Thanks for you help

If they are both the same series 55, that is, both single carb engines, then the ignition components are interchangeable as long as they are both the same ignition type. That is, both magneto ignition or both battery and points ignition.Also, I am not certain which 55s used a version of Magna Power electronic. SO if the earlier engins e is not (most likely) and the later engine is Magna power ignition, then the whole ignition system must be swapped as the coils are different.

Thanks Frank,

I see you helped me before, this motor runs good great really mostly at top end but it shakes intermittently at idle pretty bad sometimes i found a break in one coil wire and cant find a replacement its under the flyweel and the moter runs off the battry no charging system, anyway, i pieced the wire back together with a nail and tape. do you know of any other things that could make the motor shake at idel. im thinking stick or broken reeds
