I picked up a 73 Silverline with a mercruiser 140 that is seized, I was wondering if there as anything on these motors that was nla and I should make sure to save? I'm parting it out, and figured there would be people looking for stuff off it. Thanks for any advice

I don't know why it seized, but I couldn't get it to move. It's been sitting outside fur some time now. I want sure if something like the timing cover was nla like on my 470, and didn't want to ignore a small post that didn't seem important but people are looking for.

"Parting out" to me means selling whatever parts or assemblies a buyer wants from it after you advertise and people start coming by to look at whatcha got left.

If you mean junking most of it, and saving back some pieces to sell, then that would be whatever you can mange to remove in one piece and have room to store and show until it sells. Whole drive, whole engine + drive, controls and cables, windshield, gauge panels, pilot wheel. If junking engine then save the carb I guess, maybe alternator, manifolds are probably toast. Bilge pump, livewell pumps, blower, prop, anchors, etc. The drive should have enough good guts or at least enough housing itself left to be of some value, especially with the transom assembly.

Thanks.

Yea I'm just trying to save anything anyone might want, and was looking to see if there was any specific parts on these engines that are important to save. I don't want to hold onto the boat too long, and will be storing parts.
