Parts Availability

I am in the process of rebuilding my 1976 Johnson 115ETL. I am at the point of being ready to order parts, as soon as my heads are finished, so I will know if I need o/s pistons or not. I have noticed there seems to be a gap for '75, '76, and '77 115hps. A number of the online stores including Iboat I have looked at don't have a 1976 115 listed for some products. The 85hp is there though. Other than the pistons, can I use 85hp parts, or am I missing something important here. I even had a Johnson dealer tell me that there was no 115 for 1976. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Parts Availability

I don't see any evidence of a '76 - 115. Parts books are available on-line at "http://epc.brp.com/default.aspx?brands=ej&lang=E" Copy and past into browser address field without the quotation marks.

Re: Parts Availability

The OMC parts catalogs have a few odd errors in them. In this case, they don't list the 115 for 76 in the Johnson product line. Look under Evinrude and you will find it. Same parts.

Re: Parts Availability

Thanks guys. I have both a Seloc and a factory service manual. I had seen so many parts diagrams online I had thought a parts manual would not be necessary. I had hoped the Evinrude 115 would be the same, but it always pays to ask. Measure twice, cut once.
