I picked up this motor for 25 bucks, cleaned the carb, cleaned the plugs, changed the gear oil, put in some fresh gas, old stuff was like varnish, 3 pulls started rite up. I adj. the mixture so it runs good at high and low speed, but it has rj8c plugs, can"t be right, what are the correct plugs?

Chances are, your outboard was made by McCulloch. Do a search for the McCulloch "Ox". Absent more definitive info, I'd go with Champion H10C plugs.
