I just bought a boat with a 1960 40HP Johnson (RDS-22) I would like to buy a carb kit w/ float but can find it anywhere. Any universal kit that would fit? Is there a supplier of parts for older outboards?
I would try some dealers who have been Ev/J dealers for a long time. Also, for on-line I would try iShopMarine, marineparts, vintageoutboard, etc. Have you tried iboats? Also www.aomci.org.
He needs the carburator float, so do I, the link you posted takes you to the regular carburator kit with no float, you can find them all over without the float.
