We have a 1941 Johnson 9.8 hp (ksl-15) and we need a piston ring and possably crank seals. What/were is a good source of parts for pre-1950's OMC outboards and how can you tell if crank seals are bad?

I would try Engine Blade and Prop. Also go to the AOMCIA website and there are a lot of antique outboard entusiasts who could help you.

Welcome to iBoats, BTW. There are plenty of good minded people here who would be happy to help out too.

I've had good luck finding no longer available parts at www.twincityoutboard.com. They advertise motor parts from 1906 to present. Give them a call. They are very very cordial and responsive to your needs.

Yep, I just bought some good used parts for my JW-14 there too. Good source for parts.
