Parts for my boat

Hi all,

I'm looking for some parts for my Slickcraft 279SL (SC). It's a somewhat older boat (1989) so it proves quite difficult to find parts. I already contacted Tiara, but they also don't know where to find parts.

One of the reasons is that I would like to convert my "SL" to a "SC" model. They are both basically the same, the only difference is that my boat is fitted with a large sundeck at the aft, I would prefer to have a seat there, like the SC model has.
But I also need some other parts.

However, parts are interchangeable between the SL and SC so if anyone knows an address or maybe even a discarded SC model with available parts I would really like to receive a link to the boat and/or shop.

Regards,
Ray

Ayuh,... Those sorta "Parts" are Built by the Owner parts,....
Boats ain't like most cars, ya don't buy the ready made parts, ya Build 'em,...
Especially such an Old hull,...

If ya wanta change the lay-out of the cockpit, Go for it,....

Yep, a lot of the fabrication (unless you wanna' pay an arm and a leg) will be done by you. Seats are available at a lot of online stores, just curl up with a search engine and find something you like. And as for how to do the work itself, ask questions in the rebuild section.

Of course there's always the chance you could stumble across an SC model with a bad engine and get it for cheap and scavenge the parts you need, but that'd be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Well, it won't be that hard to do the changes but original parts would be better.
Thanks for the replies so far.

Re: Parts for my boat

finding parts for an original boat from 1989 will be like finding parts for a 1926 Velie. just not going to happen. Boat manufactures support seat cushions, canvas, and misc interior parts etc. for 5 years max.

as many had posted, you may be lucky and find an SC model, however most of the stuff you are looking for will most likely need to be rebuilt anyway.
