I have a 1983 75 HP Evinrude which had the powerhead rebuilt 4 years ago. Lately I have been having some trouble with my power trim/tilt unit. I just saw a 1989 Johnson 70HP for sale with a functional power trim/tilt. According to the owner the motor ran great last year and the trim/tilt works like new. My questions are:
1) Would the power trim/tilt work with my Evinrude?
2) Would the parts from the 1989 Johnson work on a 1983 Evinrude?
I am considering purchasing the Johnson to use as a parts source for any future problems.
