Parts problems

Hey guys,

Quick question. Ordered new risers and everything looks the same and lines up. The only problem I have is the new riser has a roughly 3" threaded hole at the top and my old riser does not have one. Do I need a threaded plug?

Motor is an 88 Merc 4.3 12 bolt.

Huh? Pictures needed Have never seen a 3" threaded hole on any riser. Old or new.

12 Bolt manifold.

It's right on the top - like a water tube entrance like they have coming in on the front of the riser. It's a new GLM 4" riser.

is that 3 inches deep or 3 inches in diameter..... neither makes much sense without a picture.
