I need fuel lines for my 1400. The ones in there now are a mix of original (gulp) and replacements using generic auto line clamped down. Is there a reasonable source, or am I stuck cobbing auto fuel line?

I also need a timing belt, as the one on there looks cracked and haggard. I can't find either of these on iboats and would appreciate your referrals for a good parts provider.

Thanks,

Dave

Your Mercury dealer carries the timing belt Part Nr. 20140, as for the fuel lines he may have replacement lengths with clamps.

Thanks, I will stop by the marina here which happens to sell Merc parts. I think the lines are unobtanium/NLA.

Unscrew the lines from pumps and inlets and replace with small brass hose barb and GOOD quality fuel line, do not use worm clamps but fuel injection hose clamps(O'reillys) as they pull down evenly.. You can order belt thru Promarine or boats.net...

Thanks - I have seen those barbs online. Do you happen to know what size my old pig would take? I can't find it by searching. Thank you!

Take the old lines out and take them with you to a NAPA or good parts store. They should have what you need.

I replaced all the lines this spring on my '71 Merc 800. I found the barbed fittings to be 1/8" NPT x 1/4" barb. Bought some 1/4" fuel line and cut to approp length then used clamps as mentioned by Faztbullet.
