Where does everybody get their parts from, all I need (right now) is a stupid freeze plug for a Volvo Penta 2.1 (AQ125A) and I'm having a hard time finding one. Somebody suggested doug russell but they bumped my order up to $30.00 minimum. It's for the exhaust manifold, is there a automotive motor that I could cross reference with ?

Re: Parts ?????

Try SierraMarine.com they may have it, don't know if there is a minimum order amount or not.

I believe this AQ125A was based on the Volvo auto engine B21, but there probably is someone here who can positively ID it for you better than I can.

Joe

Re: Parts ?????

Yes, it is based on the B21. But the auto ex manifolds and the marine ex manifolds are two completely different animals.

Shouldn't be a problem though, punch it out, measure the hole, order a new one. It'll be metric.

Re: Parts ?????

Find your local Volvo Penta dealer, it's only a $4 item.
Since it's a MARINE exhaust manifold, it's completely different from an automotive, plus, buying a regular steel expansion plug may be bad if you boat in brackish water. Doubt you find salt water in Tenn, but brackish water will destroy the steel plugs in nothing flat.

Re: Parts ?????

Brass freeze plugs are available at most auto supply stores. EXCELLENT replacement.
