Patching the center console

The PO hung a lot of something all over the center console, the somethings are gone and there are about 40 various sized holes left over, the CC is about a 16th thick

How do you patch something that thin and expect ot stay

Had to go look

It appears to be chopped fiberglass with a gelcoat about 1/4 inch thick

I'd think MarineTex would be good solution.
