I cannot get eather one to work. I was told that I need to flash the bios of this mobo. I cannot find the flash file or instructions anywhere. I have flashed bios's before but its been some time. This PC has no floppy drive but im sure i can do it from a cd? maybee not sure? anyways there is no option in the bios to enable or disable agp or the onboard video. I have the agp card in there and nothing in device mangler. here is the closest i have seen to an answer.....

Re: Pc hardware help

find the board maker and do to the site and look in the support files....

does the board have onboard video if so disable it......then install the pci video....

did u check in the chipset features to see if the AGP is in there....

first u need to know who made the board and go from there

Re: Pc hardware help

1st check the Computer manufacture for at BIOS update.

Next look directly on the Mainboard and see if they have updated drivers.

The above advice is good. Additionally, some AGP cards required their own power. Take a look at the card (or read the directions :D) and see if it has a connection for power. Most look similar to the ones in your CD drives, but I have seen one tiny one (can't remember what it's called)...

Good luck.

I remember when I used to build computers, some of the older boards had a jumper you had to move to enable the on board AGP slot, you might check, and see if yours does, it will normally say in little white letters "AGP" next to the jumper.

^^^ All of the above.

Plus, just make real sure the card is seated properly. I remember when AGP first came out all I had used was PCI and ISA (yup lol) at the time. AGP had a different feel to it and I often didn't get them seated properly myself until I got used to it. It's almost like there is a second click after it feels like it's in there.
