I've read many posts on this great forum and tried a search but I can't find out what a "Pee Hole" is and it's purpose. Have aquired 78 Evinrude 6hp that has hose coming out back of lower motor housing and assume that's a pee hole and water should come out. Can anyone explain??? Thanks.

"pee hole", "tell tale", "overboard water indicator", it's a visual indication that your water pump is pumping water - if your motor isn't peeing or if the stream is weak, it usually indicates either the pee hole hose is clogged with insect nests or something, or maybe enlarged prostate, or else the water pump is broke and engine seizure is imminent, so shut her down NOW.

Water pumps fine - will check for clogged hose. Thanks a lot!

If its possible for you to get access to a compressor then you can blast the internal water ways with high pressure air this will usually dislodge any crap in the water ways.If this does not work it is time to get the spanners out.
