Silly question...
My pee hole (weep hole) is pointed directly back and down on my 2000 johnson 175. Therefore, I can't "check" it while running. How do I turn it? It looks as if it simply turns, but I put a lot of pressure on it, with no luck, and I didn't want to break anything. Do I loosen the nut that surrounds it first?

Re: Pee Hole

it is just a clip in to the cowl, and the hose attached to it. the hose is probably holding it.

The tell tale nozzle is an insert held in postion by that large nut. Just loosen the the nut, rotate the insert to where you want it and tighten the nut back down.

Pretty simple.

Re: Pee Hole

Others have given you good, simple advice. Another thing you might consider is adding a water pressure gauge at the dash board. I really like having it because you can glance at it rather than turning around to see the telltale. Also, my telltale regularly gets temporarily plugged up, but the pressure gauge always functions. Before I got it, I would always freak out and quit running the engine until I could unplug the telltale. Now I dont worry about it and 99 times out of 100 it unplugs itself within a few minutes. I don't even bother looking back anymore.

Thanks All for the help...
As for the pressure gage...How difficult is it to install one? I'm (obviously) not much of an outboard mechanic, considering my previous post...

With a motor that size I'm surprised that you don't already have a pressure guage on the dash cluster.

Installing a pressure guage would involve drilling and installing the gauge in the dash and running a small diameter hose back to a fitting on the motor.

Any chance you know what fitting to attach it to on a Johnson 110 HP 2 stroke? Or what it may be called and I can look in service manual... maybe do it with a picture story to post here after I am done.. Thanks
