I took my upper outdrive somewhat apart and found that the dog/slide shoe was worn on one side. One side had a groove and the other did not. The Penta 275 upper outdrive had NO grease it there. <br />Would this cause the throttle to stick if there was too much gap where the dog is suppose to go in the upper drive? When I move the prop by hand to see if it sticks....it is not a smooth movement. :( But when I took the dog/slide out of the upper drive and turned the prop again...it was normal and like what it is suppose to do. Oh and I added a little oil :D to see if that MIGHT help. Should I replace the dog?

Re: Penta 275 Outdrive

Rob, the 275 is lubricated by oil (10w30) no grease needed. You will need to replace worn parts and shim correctly, a manual will explain procedure in detail. Make sure shift mechanism is adjusted correctly so that sleeve is centralised in nuetral. Good luck. Aldo
