Penta 4.3 interchange

I had my 4.3 die on me on the lake. Not knock no nothing. Took the plugs out thinking hydrolock but that wasn't the case. I had noticed my oil pressure fluctuating beforehand so I'm thinking the crank siezed on me. Still don't know yet, just doing some preliminary research.

What I was wondering is if an OMC 4.3 would work or if I have to stick with Volvo Penta 4.3. Also wondering if a V8 would work.

I guess what I'm asking is what engines might work to replace mine.

Ayuh,... All of the 4.3ls start out as Chevy motors...
So,...
Get a reman'ed Chevy 4.3l for it...

A V8 will need a different drive ratio gear set to work...
