Today i had some family over and we decided to go on the boat. We got to the ramp, started backing in, and stopped a foot before the water to take straps off and put plug in when this pontoon FULL of drunk people rolls in. they dock on the other side of the ramp, and they ALL started swimming, right where i was going to back my boat. This ofcorse ticked me and my family off. They were all running away after a little pretend phone call with the cops about some drunk boaters. people are so stupid these days.

That sounds kinda funny "they were all running away with a pretent phone call to the cops"
What a sad state of affairs, they would most likely be be busted right at the ramp round here, tho I dunno binge drinking is way of life for many here.

I had the same thing happen to me except I was trying to get into my rented boat slip and there were about 10 or so Mexican descendants that set up camp on my both sides of my slip and kids were swimming off the end of the dock one one side fishing on the other. I asked them if they could move so I could get in and they just looked at me and I had to stop my pontoon and use hand gestures to get them to move and by then the wind had me off course  and had to back up into a shallow sand bar to correct my angle. It took them 10 minutes to get their stuff gathered with their 10 foot surf rods. LOL

Whole thing seems kinda odd to me.... in FL its illegal to swim within 50feet of a boat ramp or launch, and most prohibit fishing from the docks that service the ramps, and are policed regularly...

Sorry to hear about your troubles...

I for one can't imagine swimming at a boat ramp of all places??? I mean I wouldn't want to risk it... you never know what could happen... not to mention, they are slick/slippery, smelly, and generally not a pleasant place to be in the water at. :(
