It's sunny and in the 60's today. I thought I'd trouble shoot a few issues between striper fishing. I was out last weekend second time this year. I couldn't get the rpms over 3500. Sucked up 10 gallons of fuel in in about 45 minutes (12 miles). Sounded like the engine was running rich maybe to much fuel. Poor overall performance. Great compression! Cold, all plugs out wide open throttle, no choke left side 138, 139 right 148, 142. Preventive preseason I did a decarb, new Champion plugs gaped at .30, New fuel lines, filters, pump filter, new fuel, cleaned tank, changed lower end fluids, pulled prop checked for line. All the fun stuff as time permits. I guess my question is should I rebuild the carbs before I do a synk and timing? After that I have to tackle a small oil leak.
