We bought a boat and trailer in Florida and imported them into Canada in 2007. We had all the required documentation to clear the border. Registering the boat was no problem. The problem is registering the trailer in British Columbia. When we took the boat to Canadian Tire for inspection we discovered that the capacity sticker is unreadable and they would not inspect it. We have the serial number but that wasn't good enough. Performance Trailer is now out of business so that is a dead end. The trailer was made by Performance Trailer Inc. in Florida in 1999 but sold by Tropic Trailer under their name. They have been helpful but cannot provide any capacity information based on the vin number alone. Any old Performance Trailer dealers out there who might have a serial number decoder or old brochures from 1999 to 2000? the trailer is an aluminium "I" beam tandem axel trailer with 14D tires

Re: Performance trailer?

Ayuh,...

Add up the Load Capacity of the Tires,....
The Trailer can only haul the load the Tires are capable of carrying...

Re: Performance trailer?

I have a Performance Trailer from the same time frame. My VIN sticker is also faded and illegible! I check the original docs that came with the trailer, and there is absolutely NO reference information. Sorry.
