Can anybody tell me if the Perko Flush Pro is any good? I am concerned about the automatic pressure valve getting stuck, or possibly no raw water going to impeller when not backflushing with fresh water during normal running conditions. I have a 2000 5.0 Gi Volvo Penta with a SX drive.

Re: Perko Flush Pro

I use them on everything on my boat, both engines, generator, and A/C. I also run the Volvo Penta with the SX drives. Never had any problems and they will be 5 yrears old at the end of March. I think they work very well and would recommend them.

Graco also makes a simular device called a safty valve which is made of brass. With it you have a backup bilge pump powered by the engine if needed.

Re: Perko Flush Pro

My appologies. The company is Groco and I have a link to this product.

http://www.groco.net/products.html

They call it an engine flush kit and safty seacock. I have had mine for several years and would buy another one.

Re: Perko Flush Pro

Thanks for the posts. Not sure what I'm going to do yet. Two things I don't like about the Flush Pro are one it's made of plastic, and you can only flush out the motor side you can't flush out the outdrive side. Where as if I make one up using a tee with 3 ball valves I can isolate whatever I want to flush out. The problem is there is very little room for me to install this tee unless I extend the intake hose and reroute it to the impeller.
