View the Milky Way at 10 million light years from the Earth. Then move through space towards the Earth in successive orders of magnitude until you reach a tall oak tree just outside the buildings of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida. After that, begin to move from the actual size of a leaf into a microscopic world that reveals leaf cell walls, the cell nucleus, chromatin, DNA and finally, into the subatomic universe of electrons and protons. (Note, you need Java to run this thing)
http://www.wservernews.com/8B0MWD/060508-Milky_Way

Re: Perspective

It is absolutely mind boggling to see creation repeat itself in all possible sizes and shapes.
One can almost imagine that the milky way is just a tiny part of an incredibly large creature, while at the same time an electron could be a satelite/planet circling around a nucleus/sun.And do the same physcal laws apply at every seize level?

Re: Perspective

What lies beyond the quarks? Nothing? What is "nothing"? Empty space? Is Empty space really empty? "Something" has to occupy that area or it wouldn't be there....would it? What's in the areas between "here" and "there"? Or does it depend on where you are when you say "here" and "there"? Empty space between solar systems......is it really empty except for the lingering gravitational forces speeding through it from galaxies long past? If so.....then it can't be really empty.....can it?

One thing for sure..........the Longneck is empty...... :)
