its been 5 years since i first got this boat on the water. wow time flies. then consider the 2 years it took to do all the stringers transom and glass. 7 years with this boat. just wow... anyway the tired old long block finally took a dump. its amazing the thing ran 4 years at only 70 psi a CYLINDER. the new longblock got here last night, so i guess its time to get busy. when i got tyhe old motor out ill be doing some more fab work in the boat ⛵ to improve her and just make things all around better. maybe after this round of work i can finally call is finished. but my wife says otherwise.

got some more disassembly done tonight. I have the infamous gimbal ring steering play, luckily I have a complete new style assembly gimbal housing to put in its place, It seams to mount up ok... But I better check with the guys over in the motor forum before I get to far.... I Do have to move my gas tank because after mounting the trolling motor I have to much weight on the starboard side. But to do this I either have to come up with a whole new rear seat engine dog house arrangement (to use my gas tank) or fix up what I got and get a new under deck tank, because I am a dummy and scraped the original. anyway super stocked 5 years into the boat no water intrusion and is still solid as rock.

You can see here what I did with the engine cover, I got some better seats for it I will be changing out. I am pondering do I get a under deck gas tank. and keep this set up similar and fix iy up better( I built the engine house out of a doghouse I found from a van in the Junkyard by the way) or should I use the tank I got and start from scratch and redu the whole thing with a better fishing deck that opens up wide for access, and incorporate the tank I have...
It was under rear starboard seat. That way just aint going to work with the trolling motor mounted over their too....

Well I stopped posting and kept working, Things I did the last few months were.
Rebuild the bell housing from two different ones, one from a 90,s boat and the original because of steering slop, there is still a tiny bit of play, but it is acceptable.
I think the last bit of play is from the ram. but I can live with it boat tracks and stares much better.
Added and upgraded to a brand new industrial GM goodwrench 350 with new 4 brrl edelbrack and manifold. also went with new dui electronic ignition system cleaned up exhaust manifolds. I thoght the boat was fast before now its real fast. But it slams down gas like no tomaro so I had to ad a fuel tank under the deck.
I also did a little painting on inside of boat while I had everything apart.
The parts on the new engine sit a little higher so I had to raise the doghouse 2 inches. while doing that I changed the seats and rear deck.
I can now sit in the fishing seat and run the whole boat from their with a tiller handle and remote controls. I am sure i'm leaving stuff out but here is a few pictures to look at.
