Here are a couple of photos of a concrete bar that I just completed at a beachfront bar and grille here in Madeira Beach. The restaurant is famous for its fresh grouper so there are outlines of grouper swimming through the blue-green acid stained top. There are pieces of beach glass and a few shark's teeth scattered throughout. If any of you guys are near the beach after mid-April, stop by Dockside Dave's on Gulf Blvd. You can check out the bar, and they have great food.

Looks kewl studly. Did you cast it in place then add treatment to the top surface?

Yep, it was cast in-place. I hard troweled it then left it under damp towels for three days. I ground it with 50 grit diamond pads to expose the aggregate and the glass, then proceeded through 500 grit pads, etched in the lines for the fish, then acid-stained and neutralized. I put a densifier on the surface and polished it through 1500 grit.

They have a guy coming to put burnished metal on the bottom of the bar, they are putting pilings with cushions on top for bar-stools, and a friend of mine who is an artist is painting murals on the walls. I am looking forward to the rest being done so I can get some really good photos. The place should be really nice when it is ready to open; I've already gotten several people wanting me to do some concrete countertop work for them. It is kind of a hobby for me so I'm not sure if I want to do it full time or not.
