Hi all Merry Christmas , well here are some of the pics so far the 1 pic is the left side looking toward the back of the boat !! there is rotten foam and the back brace to the stringers !!! the 2 pic is the back 3 stringers and the rotten foam , there also isnt drainage to the back of the boat !!! plus there not all glassed in !! the 3 pic is the right side there is small rotten spot about the size of a baseball , maybe a little smaller, I am going to use gulvit on it then reglass over that with the braces in !! the 4 pic is where the stringer werent glassed into the trans !!!! the 5 pic is the trans and this side is fully glassed in !!!! so what does everone think so far

just curious. after the stringers are out and the inner hull is clean, are you gonna lay a matt or two over the whole thing, just for fun?

i am, prob three layers, cant hurt, just add some weight.

oh and hows the foam comin?

Morning, Well what is seacast??? I was going to use Gluvit on the trans, it is a resin that soak in to the wood, then I was going to reglass that and the new braces in , with the braces I am useing marine plywood and I was going to get them cut and fitted and then put some Gluvit on them before glass them in !! over kill !!! and was going to do that to the stingers also before re-glassing them in, what do you guys think ??? that sould work pertty good dont you think ??? ok I am going to go take some pics I well be back in a few !!! John

OOOhhhhhh man did i just make a mess !!!!!! I got the angle grinder out and put a 6 inch maconary cut off wheel on it and went to town on all the fiberglass that i had left where i cut the stingers out, well lets just say that in the garage there is a quater inch of fiberglass dust on everything !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and 90 percent of it is gone I will take some more pics tomarrow !! I also was grinding on the transom, and got all the rott off of it !!!! OOOHHH yea there is some thing else the two stringers that I cut and were laying in there ,,, well there going in the trash!!!! I am going to cut them out of plywood marine grade, why the change ???? well lets get say some one measured once and then cut !!!!!!!! :{ and lets also say that my back, well its not so great now !!!!!!!!!!!!!! John

You mentioned using Gluvit, there's no need for it. If you're using epoxy to do the repairs, then use that same epoxy on the wood. If you're using polyester, then it won't bond well to the Gluvit (it's epoxy), so you don't want to use it in this case either.

thanks SgtMaj I got it bookmarked but i think i am going to make my own , I think I can , I think I can , I think I can !!!!!! LOL I havent got that far yet , but as soon as i get the stringers in and the transom reglass , was also thinking about add atall bow seat , but dont know how I would glass some wood under the deck upside down???? Still thinking ?????????????????? lol OK I got to get to work So later John

Ok here are the pics of what i did yesterday !! all the grinding !!! what a mess !!!haha I had the kids shop vac it out or you guys wouldnt have seen anything except dust !!! I had to stop 3 times and shop vac it with all the dust !!!
