pick up for speedometer

I am looking for help on why my speedometer does not work. I thought it might be a kinked hose or something. I found the hose kinked up at the rear of the boat with cable ties so I undone the kinks but the speedo still is not working. I can't even find the pick up point on the outdrive. Any help would be great!
