Pick up tube check valve???

Should the pick up tube have a check valve. I have a 140gal tank on my aquasport and have a 225 evinrude outboard 1997 ocean pro. I just had a problem losing prime and solved the problem by changing the prime ball do you think adding a check valve at the pick up tube is a smart idea

soory my bad I see you were talking abouht the fuel system sorry.<br />there should be a check vavle in the fuel pick up.<br />it may be stuck good luck.

Should be an anti-siphon valve where the fuel line attaches to the tank. Will help prevent what you are experiencing.<br />Good luck
