Boat size, type, what you use it for, ect is needed

You need a prop to suit your load, hull and type of use. There is a "standard" prop that your motor originally came with but that does not mean that it would be suited to your needs.

I have a 1977, 70hp. can't tell you what size since my marina guy has it whyl I restore my boat. But like others have said it depends on the boat. Needs to go WOT about 5500rpms with the boat you have. You don't want to over rev. I tested mine with just me in it and 12 gals of fuel. Ended up with what I started out with. That is likely to change since I'm restoring my boat, you wouldn't believe all the wet wood that was taken out.

This is a 3 year old thread.Your not likely to get a response.Oh wait a minute you just did.
You should start your own thread about your project.
Be sure your boat holds it shape as you gut it.you don't want to end up with a hook or too much rocker.
