Got a '65 110 and a '55 Mark 20 at a yard sale for $35 for both. Been working on the 110 to get it running for a fishing buddy. Water pump key was shot, got a new one and had to build some gas lines. got it in the test tank, runs fine but pump isn't moving enough water. Will order a new pump for it.
Haven't messed w/ the mark 20 yet. It looks to be in good shape. Will deal w/ it after I get the 110 running good.

Wow, the aluminum is worth almost that much. Good luck in bringing them back to life.

Didn't happen to ask if the seller had the gas tanks tucked away somewhere did you? Particularly the pressurized tank that the Mark 20 would need. Good ones are very rare, although you can adapt an OMC dual line tank to use...

I'd add the Mark 25 fuel pump and get the adapter for the remote tank from Old Mercs and would call it a day rather then messing with one of the old Merc pressure tanks.

Re: Picked up two old mercs

The 110 apparently has good compression. Starts up quickly w/ my drill on the flywheel nut while in the test tank. Sounds good while running and no strange noises from LU and shift works well.Water pump needs replacing as it doesn't pump enough water. Just ran it long enough to ascertain it's overall condition. Will order the water pump after Christmas, see below.
The mark 20 has already been converted to a crankcase actuated fuel pump. Seems to have good compression pulling on the rope. And I got two non pressure tanks along w/ the motors. As said I won't monkey w/ the 20 until the 110 is out the door to a good fishing buddy who badly needs one. He's going to have to wait awhile because we are leaving Sat AM for our son's in Nashville. He's having hip replacement done and is single so no one to help him out during recovery. Hopefully we'll be back before Christmas.
