Thought I should snap a few pics of her before I go and get her wet this weekend.

I used regular Rustoleum paint (rolled and tipped) for the exterior and interior. Made the decorative seat overlays and deck out of white pine because I had a bunch of it in my shed. As you can see. the front tip of the deck broke upon intallation. Not enough "test fitting" I guess. Oh well, now I hace a place to shove the rope that's attached to the bow. ;)

The boat is made my Revco, a division of Southwest manufacturing out of Arkansas. I think they are no longer in business.

I wondered if that bow seat would be too top-heavy...I will be very careful, as always when on the water. It's just me and my dog most of the time, so I can leave the bow seat and pedestal in the trunk. He likes to ride at the bow when we're under way.

Nice dremel work. Both practical and ornamental. And if you ever leave the boat to your kids, they will have a nice reminder of 'ol dad.

Did you cut your initials or name in there somewhere?

Regarding the bow seat, I don't think it will be any tippier than if you were standing in it. But if it is, just cut down the post. Let us know how it turns out.

BTW, did you do the dremel work totally "free hand" or did you have it in a jig sort of like a router?

Thanks,

Mark

I like the wooden treatments and engraving, the ruler really tops it off. Is it a 'fisherman's ruler', one that has smaller inches than normal? ;) You could fix that broken piece up so no one would ever know better without too much trouble.

What are you powering it with?

The wood work is very nice. I agree with Calico, that ruler just tops it off.

How did you like the rustoleum?? I plan on repainting the hull of my smaller aluminum to match my restored Evinrude. I had planned on using rustoleum so any comments you have on it would be appreciated.

Great job on that. Nice touches in the wood. I did notice the glossy finish on the front deck. After a fish flops around on it a bit, be careful with footing. Could get awful slick.

Re: Pics of aluminum remodel

Thanks for the nice compliments guys, and you're right. That bow seat is WAY too tippy. I'll definitely have to shorten that pedestal.

I sketched the fish on with pencil, then dremeled the rest free hand. The ruler is accurate, Calico...I wished I had known about the fisherman's ruler before I cut the inch marks. :) ;) :) I have a mid-70's Evinrude Sport Twin, 9.5 HP. The boat's rated for a 16 but the little rude gets me where I wanna go.

I was extremely pleased with the Rustoleum, PONY.
It covered real nice. I used a foam roller then tipped it with a decent brush. It does set up or dry fairly quickly, so I would reccommend only doing fairly small areas so it doesn't "wave".

The helm seat's c.o.g. seemed okay, but as I said before, that bow seat is WAY too high.

Tahasdaddy, no I haven't exchanged emails with you, but I have lurked around this forum for about 6 months now.

I really respect and value you guys' opinions. Thanks!

All I can say is the way I did it was to use a piece of cardboard and made a template which I traced onto wood.

That's what I did too. Apparantly I didn't get mine fitted just right, and the tip broke upon installation.
