Picture pixel limit exceeded

Tried to post a picture this am and got this instead of the pic. being posted. Where do I go from here? Thanks.

Do you know how big your photo is? There's a 700kb size limit to posted photos, and the forum software doesn't resize them for you.

No sir and I don't know how I would reduce the content.....is that 2Gb the BIT count (pixel) of the picture, meaning if I could figure out how to make it smaller, not less defined, I could get it to fit.....or is it the clarity that it counts...like the more bits/pixels the clearer the image?

Need to use something like photoshop, power point or other to resize the pic.

Windows has a native image app that will do it too.

Oh - Preview on the Mac should do it for you no trouble.

TOOLS > Adjust Size ...
