We were there 3 weeks ago.....I could have spent the whole day looking at the displays.
One of the most interesting things was the George Boldt's guest barge, La Duchesse. It's fabulous, there are 2 floors, with the main floor for sleeping, dining etc., and the upper floor for entertaining. There is a fireplace on each floor in case it gets cold. What Mr. Boldt would do, is have a tug drag the barge to a spot on the river, drop anchor, and leave it to the guests to do as they wish. Hopefully they brought everything they needed.

Well worth the price of admission.

That was cool.. thanks!

I'll bet they have "no smoking" signs every 3 feet! Even the building is exposed wood.

With technology today, we can take the deminsions of one of those old boats, put it into a computer, and it spit us out plans to build one. I think it would be an absolutely incredible endevor to recreate one of those little mini personal speed boats. I have always longed for one of those!

Me too. They have some nice plans at GlenL. It's on my bucket list!

They are doing that with the Coronet, currently residing in Newport , RI at the school for yacht building....135 footer, from 1895!
