Pine Flat Lake, CA and Odd waves

Lots of snow melt coming into the lake, release at the dam is causing closures/banning of floating in the Kings River one death attributed to fast water, so far, of a young man stationed at Lemoore NAS:

Anyone know what caused the waves, there where no boats in the area ???

Wind can cause alot of wave action, looks like were you were boating it is in a very steep/narrow winding valley.
(wind comes down the north leg and kicks up water on the east/west legs)

and as you said melt water is coming into the lake, either the dams are releasing it at a high amount or lots of creeks pumping it out.
