this hole is small and up near the front where it starts to curl up to the bow. I could go get it and bring it to my work and weld it but thats "some" hassle. Im wondering if i wouldnt be just as well off to take a tube of JB weld with me next time I go up to the place on the river and just patch it on the spot with that stuff. Anyone ever use it? I ise it for alot of things but i have never used it on aluminum and i wasnt sure if it would hold. I cant see why it wouldnt unless it just wont stick to aluminum.

bring along some sand paper to scuff the area. I myself would put it on the inside if you could. if you dont need the "qwik weld" use the regular JB weld. it take a bit longer to cure, however its a lot stronger.

you can also get the JB putty.

Some previous owner did a couple of patches with JB weld on my son's jonboat, still holding strong after many years.

Yes, definitely clean up the area real good first with sandpaper (and if it were me I'd clean it with alcohol or acetone after that).

After cleaning the spot well, when applying the "putty" try forcing an amount into the hole so that it can be "mushroomed" out on the back side. Kinda like a rivet, makes for a better hold.

Some people say JB weld will pop out if it's on a spot that vibriates alot,I doubt it just repeating what I've heard.
I solid rivet, bucked with alittle 3M5200 would work well to,might make a water spray though.

Definitely hasn't been the case in my experience. I put the bow eye back on a Duracraft john boat with the stuff once and it was stronger than before.

jb weld it is then. I have a stick or 2 of the putty around the house so im just going to use the putty and sand it before mashing the putty on/in the hole. I should be able to get to it easy enuf to do both inside and out and this thing only has a trolling motor so i think it will last a long time. saves me alot of hassle so it for sure woth a try.
