I have a 1985 Starcraft CSS161 boat that had a big "shooting star" on the side out of vinyl sticker. It was in bad shape so I removed it and was looking to paint the graphics back on. I only need about a pint of paint. Does anyone carry a good paint like awlgrip or interlux in pint size applications? My boat has a white star. Will automotive polyurethane work for this or am i way better off with the marine paints?

YOu can use Rustoleum on it. It's above the waterline so use any paint you want. Just prep the area by sanding with 180, clean with acetone, and "Git er Dun"

I'm just sayin...:D

Any single stage automotive Ureathane would be fine, a rattle can will fade in no time!!:D

Hello Heller..

Awlgrip does not offer pt containers.. ( You might try your local boat repair or yard as they might have some to sell ).

Auto Pthanes will work fine.

I would suggest not getting a batch of some custom color. For touchups needed it will be a real PITA to match.

Use colors out of the can :) .

YD.

Re: Pint size paint

I found some marine top side paint, I am thinking of going with this. The graphic is half submerged most of the time. Will this matter? Or am I better off with a 2 part paint?

Is this a tailored or slipped boat? Top side paint is usually fine submerged for less than a week at a time.
