After have a none running 4hp we've put engine oil down the plug hole! It now runs fine...

Does this point to piston ring wear?? or some other problem?

Also if its not piston ring wear could it be that the fuel/oil mixture wants enrinching a bit??

Thanks for any help

Re: Piston Rings ??

It sounds like the rings were stuck, run a tank at 24 to 1 and then try it at 50 to 1 it wiil probably fine

Re: Piston Rings ??

Hi Laddies
Well we've run it as much as we can but it keeps stopping. We've put down some Quicksilver PowerTune cleaner & run that through a couple of times.

It seems to run for a good while then stop & the only way of starting it again is to shove engine oil down it's plug'ol again!!!! :(

Any ideas what this might diagnose??

Thanks again all

Re: Piston Rings ??

If it starts by just adding oil in the cyl then you have low compression and need to rering the engine
